Every year, the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh throws an LGBTQ+ Prom for kids who aren't welcome -- or don't feel safe -- attending their own school's prom as their authentic selves. The beautiful event serves as an entry point to a larger conversation: why are safe spaces still needed for queer youth -- even in 2024 and in relatively progressive places like Pittsburgh. From Executive Producers Billy Porter and DJ Gugenheim, this is the first feature film produced via The Warhol Creative, a boutique production studio in association with The Andy Warhol Museum.

﻿"Butterfly Town USA" is a documentary that follows a community in Pacific Grove, California in which citizens are working together to protect their Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary. Internal disagreements about how to best take care of this beautiful habitat are escalating at a time when climate change, deforestation, and pesticides are decimating the Monarch population worldwide. The film includes the world-renowned Ecologist and Entomology Professor, Lincoln Brower, discussing the demise of the Monarch Butterfly population due to Global Warming, Mexico's ongoing destruction of the Monarchs' overwintering habitats, and America's rampant use of pesticides and genetically engineered crops.&nbsp;The film's inclusion in the festival would bring awareness of the declining Monarch Butterfly populations and would inspire more people to grow organic gardens that include the butterflies' source of food, drought-tolerant and native Milkweed.

Crystal is your typical ten-year-old little girl. She loves geography, dancing, squishmallows, and video games. But Crystal was born biologically a different gender than she identifies. Her family and friends all love Crystal and accept her for who she is, but the state of Texas does not. In 2023, the Texas legislature made it illegal for doctors to offer lifesaving medical care to transgender minors. When the state threatened to investigate her parents, Crystal’s mother was forced to take her and her brother to another state, leaving her father to work in Texas. This is the story of a little girl and her beautiful family who are unjustly being torn apart over draconian anti-transgender laws in Texas.

In the end, her mother finds her sleepwalking, her mouth sealed shut, a haunting metaphor for silenced voices. The mother takes the girl’s hand and leads her forward, symbolizing our role in uplifting young girls and forging a brighter, more hopeful future.&nbsp;

This film is about how Democracy works when citizens step forward and take an active role. What happened at a meeting which a resident of the city documented decades ago, is relevant to how we need to speak out about nuclear weapons stockpiling efforts around the world today. "In a democracy, the most important office is that of the private citizen." - Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis This film documents the efforts of citizens working together to convince their City Council to adopt a Nuclear Weapons Freeze Resolution.The Mayor of their city and the majority of the Council felt, initially, that support of a Nuclear Freeze was not an appropriate issue for local government.Three hundred residents showed up to make their case. During the meeting, the Council shifts from tabling the issue indefinitely to voting to support a Nuclear Freeze Resolution.This film focuses on how the voices of impassioned citizens resulted in Council members changing their positions, ensuring passage of the city's Nuclear Freeze Resolution.The story takes place against a backdrop of worldwide grassroots efforts to rein in the escalating nuclear arms race during the Cold War era. What happened at that meeting is relevant to our need to speak up about nuclear weapons stockpiling efforts around the world today.
