Nate, a perfectionist workaholic jazz drummer, is deep into composing music for a new album when a friend asks him to cover a last-minute gig. Reluctantly, he agrees and meets Yazmine, a dedicated modern dancer skeptical of his ability to pull off the performance. To their surprise, the chemistry on stage is electrifying, leading to a level of performance neither anticipated. Uncertain of their next steps, Yazmine invites Nate to her upcoming show and despite wanting to attend, Nate declines to prioritize his work. Back home, he can't stop thinking about Yazmine and eventually realizes that success doesn’t just require you to work hard – sometimes you have to play hard.
