DJ:LA
DJ:LA is a short film that remixes the frenzied sights and sounds of the Los Angeles landscape to uncover the rhythm and melody of the city. It takes inspiration from turntablism — the record manipulation techniques of a DJ — and attempts to translate it to film.

At 5’3” and having always been seen as "large for an Asian," Vu recounts his experience with compulsive binge eating, which ultimately led to his gastric bypass surgery. The excess weight is gone, but now he yearns to shed the feelings of being an outsider to finally gain acceptance from his ethnic community.
