African Americans are and have dependably been a dynamic piece of the lesbian, gay, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and same-sex loving community. From trailblazing pioneers, for example, author James Baldwin and trans-gender rights activist Marsha P. Johnson, to present-day legends, like, on-screen actress Laverne Cox and ball star Jason Collins, LGBTQ African Americans have made gigantic commitments to the progressive battle for social, racial and monetary equity.
