A first time director of a documentary film, Jade King Carroll is an acclaimed American theater director known for her powerful storytelling and commitment to diverse voices. Carroll has directed productions at prestigious theaters such as New York Theater Workshop, Lincoln Center, McCarter Theater, Atlantic Theater, Hartford Stage, Two River Theater, Long Wharf Theater, Shakespeare Theater, DC. She has directed audio plays for Marvel, Audible and Broadway Podcast Network. She has been recognized with numerous fellowships and awards including the Paul Green Award from the National Theater Conference and the estate of August Wilson and the TCG New Generations Future Leader grant. Carroll is the producing artistic director of Chautauqua Theater Company, where they opening a new theater center in 2026 with a focus on new play development and the next generation of theater artists. Carroll’s work inspires audiences with her bold vision and dedication to compelling, inclusive theater.
