Luz is a devout Catholic woman who is suddenly woken by unsettling dreams. In the process of not wanting to stay asleep, she goes the distance to keep herself awake, including eating habanero peppers. As the story progresses, Luz’s desperation increases as her husband notices her sudden change. The story culminates with the audience finally seeing Luz's dream, and her decision thereafter about her identity.
