DESERT PHOSfate follows multilayered story of phosphate and its impact on the Saharawi people and how the Saharawi who are the indigenous nomads of Western Sahara are now displaced in refugee camps, and are surprisingly starting to farm small scale family gardens in the Hamada Desert in southwest Algeria. The film explores poetics of living in the desert with narratives of the social changes from past and present life of the Saharawi people.
