Arthur (Bruce Davison), a man of a determined intellect has been diagnosed with a form of dementia that causes vivid, persistent and detailed hallucinations of the love of his life—his dead wife, Mae. Arthur decides he must re-visit the place where he and Mae first met, so embarks on a road trip to get there. Along the way Arthur meets A.J., a young man on his own personal road trip of self-discovery. The two form an awkward and sometimes conflicting relationship as they travel together.
