In a Somali neighbourhood in Toronto, innocent teenagers Farah and Halima fall in love. But both have been warned to stay away from each other because they are from different tribes. When Farah's family moves to Vancouver because of a neighbourhood tragedy, the young lovers are torn apart. Their romance rekindles in their 20s when they reunite in Toronto. That is, until the same cultural barriers that once divided them resurface. Will their love be enough to rewrite their fate, or are some tragedies destined to repeat themselves? This modern-day Romeo and Juliet cautionary tale explores whether cultural barriers can be broken once and for all.
