A youth/families selection of films (recommended for audiences aged 13 and up) that highlight the challenges of building relationships, confronting fears, and bridging gaps during adolescence. Following the films, youth and families are welcome to partake in educational/cultural activities especially linked to these films.

Life tests the young love between high schoolers Farah and Edison, and calls into question the compatibility of their cultural differences. Ibrahim, entrusted with his teen daughters as his wife travels abroad, faces a dilemma. Based on a true story.


About the Filmmaker:

Nathan R. Smith is a director, writer, and editor from the suburbs of Washington, DC. His career as a filmmaker began when he directed the viral music video for DRAM & Lil Yachty’s song “Broccoli,” which received two MTV Video Music Award nominations. Since that time, he has directed videos for artists such as Joey Bada$$, Mick Jenkins, Ali Gatie, Juice WRLD, Foster the People, and many others. His video "Temptation" for Joey Bada$$ premiered at the Sundance Next Fest, and his first short film "The Burger" recently had its world premiere at Beyond Fest 2024.
