An archival-based family history that tugs at your heart. Winner of the 2026 Tribeca Festival Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Seamlessly spanning borders with nostalgic pulses of Latin American pop culture, Eddie Sánchez excavates his family history by threading intimate interviews with a rich collection of VHS home movies recorded by his parents, Lalo and Beby. This witty and heartfelt feature asks “what it costs to build a home together” as an immigrant family. Sánchez illuminates the quiet compromises of assimilation and the labor of bridging two cultures, driven by an enduring resolve to start fresh in a new place. -AT
