ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Liza Fanjeaux is a Franco-British documentary filmmaker and investigative journalist. For the past 20 years, she has been making documentaries and reports for French television, focusing almost exclusively on investigative pieces addressing social issues. She has made several films about poor housing conditions and has investigated the ‘property mafias’.

A graduate in international criminal law, she is interested in environmental issues. In 2014, in "Recyclage : les points noirs d’un business vert" (Le Monde en face, FR5), she highlighted the excesses and sometimes disastrous consequences of an economy supposedly committed to sustainability. In 2016, her film "Perdre sa vie à la gagner", which examines the failure of institutions to address work-related cancers, was selected for FIGRA.

Recently, she co-directed "Terres Extrêmes : l’enfer vert", a scientific film about the virgin forests of Central America, followed in 2023 by "Alerte en orbite, la menace des débris spatiaux" on the issue of space pollution. She produces several investigative reports for ARTE’s European investigative magazine "Vox Pop".
