SYNOPSIS

At the summit of Cerro El Plomo, an Inca child has remained for centuries as a silent guardian of the mountain range. Through new scientific studies and a restrained historical reenactment, The Guardian of the Andes reconstructs his story from a dual perspective: contemporary research and the ritual world of the Tahuantinsuyo. Scientists and specialists guide us through the Capacocha pilgrimage, the long journey that took the child from Cusco to Chile’s central cordillera, to understand who he was, how he lived, and why he was offered, restoring humanity to one of the most significant discoveries of Andean archaeology.
