Thirty acres of looted land deep in the heart of Texas became one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Americas. At great risk and personal sacrifice, archaeologist Mike Collins saved the land and uncovered evidence that could rewrite the story of when people first lived in North America. Discover how one person’s determination and a community working together can protect the past and change our understanding of human history.
Director's Statement: We hope the film raises public awareness about the Gault site and the importance of saving other irreplaceable cultural sites before they are lost forever. We also hope the film inspires others to be like Mike and Karen Collins, who set the example for passion, perseverance and selfless devotion to education and historic preservation.
